How does linkmanager work?

Has anyone else gotten this to work? Would you mind walking me through it? Even a simple line or two of explanation will probably get me started.
I'm not even totally certain what it does. I'm *wanting* something that will keep track of all the links on my site, including the internal ones and let me mess with them all from one place. Is that what linkmanager does?
Thanks!

I know this posting is rather old and you may have brought linkmanager to work already.
Or just for the archive:
- The backend module manager is at Content->LinkManager
- OPTIONAL: Tab "Manage Groups" -> Create one or more new groups
- Tab "Manage Links" -> "Add Link" and create your link entry -> Submit
- If you created a group, click on "add combined groups" and attach your link to one or more groups
- Create a new page: Content->Pages->Add new content
- Content Type:
· LinkManager=>only for groupless links
· linkmanager=>for links organized in groups
- The rest should be self-explanatory
You find here some translation errors: linkmanager should be called grouplinks, etc. Be sure that your links are active.

As you're keeping everything in one place... I've installed linkmanager 0.3 on CMSMS1.5.2 - but there's no sign of a 'groups' tab as per your post above & the help menu. Any idea what's going on?

Hey AlasdairGF,
The buttons aren't visible, but they are there!
They are white on a white background, see the attached picture.
I have also installed the Linkmanager 0.3 on CMSMS 1.5.2 this week.
But it isn't working fine.

When I click on 'Create new group' I get the admin login screen...
Do you have the same problem?
If this is working fine on your site, I have to look further on mine.
Thx Rolf

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem: when I click on 'Create new group' I also get the admin login screen...
Have you been able to solve this issue and how?
Thank you so much

I noticed the session key isn't set in the 'add group' url.
For the time being I copy the
_s_=xxxxxxx key in the 'add group' url and so I can still use the LinkManager.
Want to make a bug report, but I'm not shure if it is a core or a module problem...

I cant see in content type pullDown menu this options:
· LinkManager=>only for groupless links
· linkmanager=>for links organized in groups
is there any good linkExchanger module for cataloging Links for CMS ms? like
Cat Index 1.9 for DLE(DataLife Engine)
best regards

LinkManager isn't compatible with cmsms 1.6.x
Try to use
http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/linkmgr
