Some questions about the news module

Hmm, sorry for asking questions that probably are quiet obvious.
1. On the News page, the links take me to the backend admin instead of to the news details. Why is that?
2. When I click on a news link to read the news details, then I'd like News to be the active link in the menu (instead of like now, where the active menu link is the same as the page from where I clicked the news link), and possibly even the news category that I'd like to have as a sub-level menu item to News. I also would like to show the full details of the latest news item when one clicks on a News sub-category in the menu.
My questions may be more clear if you look at the site I'm working on at www.kisima.org/cmsmadesimple
I'm working on the layout, but you'll get the idea.
3. Oh, and just one more question. I type the name of the news category that I'd like news to be displayed from when I create a news page (isn't is possible to have a drop-down menu with the news categories nstead?!?). But still all news are shown, regardless of category. And although I tick the box "Sort ascending" the news are still sorted by the date they were added and not the date that I've set as post date. And when I go back to the news page in question the "Sort ascending" box is unticked... I can solve this by including the news module tag, but I suppose it should also work the other way.
Thanks for helping out a CMSMS beginner. It certainly is so much easier to create a page the way you want it compared to Mambo/Joomla that I've been using!
