Nice clean and simple, also good to see some NZ sites around =P

any reason for having a feedback and contact form, wouldn't it be easier to combine them.

also, any reason for having /index.php/ in your pretty urls?

wouldn't fresh-ideas.co.nz/news be better than fresh-ideas.co.nz/site/index.php/news

Other than that, well done!

you need a footer.

also, why not use the News module for the News page?

Why do you think I need a footer?
Is it some sort of design convention or something... I don't know whatI would put in the footer.

I have used the news module before but had a few clients that found it hard to use.

Also Cubix... I would love to get rid of the index.php!
I use

$config['internal_pretty_urls'] = true;
$config['use_hierarchy'] = true;

But it adds the index.php automatically and I don't know how to get rid of it... any ideas?

You need a footer for convention purposes. A user can click on a link from the bottom of the page without having to scroll to the top for the navigation. It therefore helps with accessibility.

Also, a search engine reads site from the bottom up, meaning that it will access your footer matirial first. For that reason you should put simple links to Home, Feedback, News, Answers, Info, Contact Us. The search engine will then go to these pages in addition to your home page.

Finally, from a design standpoint, it just looks like your site's page just 'ends' with no formal closing. A simple footer with links will look nice. You can also add copywrite notice here.
