CMS Made Simple Forums

I installed RSS by uploading to Modules folder, then running the install via Extensions, Modules.

But, where is the feed, and how do I get a RSS button to display?

ps - I only just installed CMSMS 1.1.4.1 and it seems easy to work with; nice and simple for an end user to add content.

I believe most of the RSS modules in the Forge are for showing RSS feeds on your site from others, if you want RSS from your site the news has it look in the help for news on how... see below \/

I must've read it wrong; the RSS Mod is for news from other sites, not from my own    DOH

I'll keep an eye out for one that generates a feed from News on my site

Go to Extensions » Modules click the name of the module or the word Help to the right to get the parameters it takes...

{news makerssbutton="true"}

This will only make a button, will not show the News you will need another news tag to show the news...

That is a tag, used in a template or in a Content: 'edit box' just like a {news} tag...

Sorry, but I'm still confused.

I've gone over n over the documentation wiki and I just can't make out this tag stuff - what is it?  I must be missing something    is there a page or website that explains this 'tag' stuff in more detail?

The RSS and feed is not super critical for this site, but I'd like to learn how to do this 'tag' stuff  for other sites that I may implement CMSMS on

just found http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/topic,14878.0.html and followed link to http://smarty.php.net and downloaded the pdf on it -  tags might make some sense once I read it.

In a default install there is a page/s that explain in a general way the tags...
