Album - any way to combine templates?

hi
i've been playing around with some of the album templates, and its not easy getting the thumbnails arranged exactly as i want them. when i finally get them looking decent in Firefox, then they don't look right in IE etc...
The "Tables" template has the thumbnails exactly as I like them, but is there any way to combine this arrangement with the effects of Greybox for example?
I've tried looking through the templates to see if there's any quick cut 'n paste I could do, but my script knowledge is a bit lacking and I didn't have any success with that.
any help appreciated.
