I downloaded 1.1.1 then upgraded from 1.1 to 1.1.1 and everything works great.

Then I created another directory and installed 1.1.1 fresh in it.  But when I went to create/edit pages, no WYSIWYG showed up on the page and there was a javascript error in the lower left-hand corner - said there was a syntax error on line 2, char 1, admin/addcontent.php

It is as if the content section of the page is in source code mode - for I can paste in the content as source code and save to have the content show up correctly.  Just no wysiwyg to work with.

I reuploaded all the folders, including the admin and module folders but keep getting the same problem.
I even tried overwriting the admin files with the admin files in 1.1, then overwriting the admin files again with 1.1.1 hoping that would solve the problem.

Anyone have any idea - short of deleting everything, installing 1.1 and then upgrading to 1.1.1 - what to do to fix this?

Hmmm, I just installed FCKeditorX and now I get that to come up as the wysiwyg - and the javascript error has disappeared, so I can make do with that editor. 

Whatever the problem is, it has to do with TinyMCE - Just can't get that one to come up/work.  I even installed the latest TinyMCE 2.2.2, but it made no difference - still got the javascript error message with no wysiwyg editor showing.

Maybe it had to do with file/folder permissions, FTP to see if they could be changed to make a diff....

Thanks for the suggestion - but that doesn't appear to be it.  I ftp'd and made sure the chmods were set at 777 for modules, and at 755 for TinyMCE (even tried 777 - made no dif.).

Weird thingy about the files folders permissions, though, now that you mention it.  In the main directory I have chmods the modules folder to be 777, yet when I bring the Modules up in the cms admin there is a red "warning" across the bottom that claims the folder doesn't have the 777 permissions.  And of course I cannot upload files there.  It's not a huge problem, since I can ftp new mods directly into the Modules folder, then click install that way. 

In the sub-directory, where I did a fresh install of 1.1.1, I get no such warning - everything works/shows as it should.

I called the host and talked to the tech there who assured me the permissions were set at 777 for that folder in the main directory -  he even logged in the admin section of cmsms to see the warning for himself and was stumped.  He said they would look in to the problem to see if it wasn't something on their end, however, causing the warning to come up.  That was yesterday - I just checked and the warning is stil there, so I'm thinking it has something to do with cmsms itself (my host tech support is excellent and very attentive to problems on their end). 

In any case, once I installed FCKeditor I got a working wysiwyg - but when I switch over to TinyMCE the wysiwyg editor doesn't come up in either directory.

Too bad TinyMCE doesn't work - but at least I have FCKeditor to work with.

FCKEditor is a nice editor, my only problem with it was if I had more than one {content} block in a template it would some times spin and spin like it was still busy even tho I was still able to edit the page and apply changes and submit and all was taken, it just acted like it was busy...
