Hello,

I recently installed CMSMS v. 1.1 on a public host server at:
http://www.ocheritage.org

I seem to be missing the Module Manager.  I get a completely blank page when I try to access it from within my admin panel.  Never encountered this problem the 2 previous times I installed it (on corporate servers).

Can you please tell me where I can download the necessary files for this, and to which cms directory(ies) I need to FTP them to on my server?

are you sure it's the same server? Are you sure server has the same permissions?

It's depending on server defaults. Sometimes providers doesn't allow outgoing connections ...

Module Manager is included with the default core package, as far as I know. What have you downloaded ? (what link ?)
What installation method have you choosen ? Please confirm it is FTP. And are your FTP upload logs OK ?

If you have not much content in your site, the best is to try to reinstall until the standard install is ok. So please wipe out everything, follow the install manual step by step and report us precisely every warning/error. And usual informations about hosting, PHP, etc.

I have had the same problem. I will try to reload as well but this could be an issue. I have never had this problem before although this is the first time I have installed on a dedicated server and set up a DB via cpanel.

I can tell you that the global setting test comes up like this;

"No permission to write in directory. This could be caused by file permissions and ownership. Safe mode may also be in effect"

Safe Mode is not in effect. I checked that and it still does it.

If ModuleManager generates a completely blank screen, it's usually a PHP error of some sort.

Check your httpd error logs.

Also..... if that doesn't show anything, check with your hosting provider to ensure they allow outgoing httpd connections.  Some hosts have firewalls that block outgoing connections, and this can cause grief, but I've never seen or heard about ModuleManager just generating an empty content page.

Usually if it's an empty page, or an unstyled page there's a php error somewhere that needs to be analyzed.

I am getting this error when I went to reload. The site seems to work but the Module page is still dead.

"Checking if session.save_path is writable

Your session.save_path is "". Not having this as writable may make logins to the Admin Panel not work. You may want to look into making this path writable if you have trouble logging into the Admin Panel. This test may fail if safe_mode is enabled (see below). "

As you can log in CMSms admin panel there is no problem with your PHP sessions.
Please show an extract of your http error logs to help narrow the PHP error in your module manager.

Found a fix at least on my end. It seems my PHP memeory was set at the default of 8M when I kicked it up to 16M it worked perfectly.

thanks George. I had the same problem after installing v 1.1.4.1 - setting the value to 16M also solved it for me. By the way if your hosting company doesn't allow access to the php.ini you can always include ask them for a copy, change the vb and insert it in the directory you run the script in.
