removed from the News Module - i've commented them out of the Summary and Details template, and i've deleted the Smarty cache... no go...

can someome tell me how this can be done?

In CMS 1.1 News supports multiple templates.

On the 'Summary Templates' tab, scroll down to the bottom and click on the link beside the 'default' template.... and edit and submit that. 

I bet you changed the default template for when you click 'new'.

I should move that stuff to its own tab.

Good idea on moving them, I've forgot and edited it and noticed no change, DUH...
