index page replaced by a deleted page

Hi.
I was deleting a page, when all of a sudden the deleted page became the home page and the home page is only visible by going to /index.php?page=Home

I have no idea what happened, and I logged in to MySQL and "repaired" the database, and viewed the files, which all seem to be correct, but the home page is still coming up wrong.  When I go to edit the home page, the correct info shows on the page, not the info/page which I deleted - why didn't that page delete or rather why does it now appear to be the home page, although I can't find that info on the home page when I go to edit it?  Have any of you ever heard of this happening before?

Any idea what might have happened and what I can do to fix this?  I tried deleting the home page and rebuilding it from scratch.  That didn't help.

Please let me know if there is anything you can think of that might correct this situation.

I am using the Canary version of cms.  My web site is reallyruralre.com

Thanks.
CJ

$5 says you made another page the "Default Page" instead of deleting it :)  Check the default column in the content listing and see what is checked.

Well, that was a quick and easy solution.   :D Actually, no page was checked as default, so I checked the home page as default and it went to working correctly.  I must have unchecked that page in my editing process and was totally unaware of it.

You've saved my day.  Thanks seems so inadequate, so Many, Many Thanks!
