Templates to stay away from?

I'm just getting the hang of converting a generic template to CMSMS and using one of the andreas series.
Question: can most generic templates be converted to CMSMS? are there  any to stay away from that you know of?

Thanks..

just about any template can be converted for use with cms made simple, even yukky tables-based layouts.

not sure what you mean by "is there any to stay away from?" --- but ones i would "stay away" from include those aforementioned tables-based ones; ones that aren't xhtml 1.0 transitional (or easy to get there), or don't use standard unordered lists for navigation (although it's easy enough to strip out the existing and put in a list-based menu that uses a (fairly) default menu-manager template)

any of andreas viklund's templates should be able to be used with cmsms (with varying amounts of work needed); some have already been done, check http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Full_Themes.html --- i know i've done one, and there was already a few there before that.

Thank you kermit, good answer. "To stay away from",  just meant any  difficult to convert or unusual templates a newbie should avoid for now. You answered it perfectly.

Thank you very much!
