ImageGallery more thumbnails page with navigation

Hi,
I need many page of thumbnails with the navigation links (prev next first last); explain:
I have a directory with 2000/3000 (yes, two/three thousand) pictures, and I need to view 5 row x 4 column per page.
The normal behavior of ImageGallery is to display all the thumbnails in one page.
It's possible modify function.ImageGallery.php to obtain this?
