CMS Made Simple Forums

Hi,

After installing version cmsmadesimple-1.0.7.zip and unzipping the files, they are sitting in my program directory but will not activate.  I cannot find an .exe file to start the program.

Also, when I click on Start => Programs, the cms made simple does not show up as a program available to me.

How do I get this thing started?  What did I do wrong in the installation?

(I unzipped the zipped files with CoffeeCup zip wizard.)

You need to copy the files to a web server, then run the install.php file in your browser.

Thanks for your response.  As a newbie using windows xp, your reply kind of blew me away!  Please bear with me as I now have more questions than before.

• Are you saying that I will be running the CMS_Made_Simple software from my webhost and not my own computer?

• [li]I then browse it with what... Internet Explorer?
• Even if I can display the file on my browser, how then do I instruct it to "run"?

Keep in mind that my previous experience has been to install new programs into "My Programs" folder and once they are installed... the program just runs automatically!

CMS is a new world for me.  And, since there are no manuals, I must depend on kind souls like yourself to help me along.  Any help I can get from anyone is much appreciated.
