nice graphical layout. One personal note: I'm not really fond of background coloring of texts, as is done on the main-page in the news area, I rather see blocks colored as the size is than similar, now the yellow areas width is wider/smaller depending on the width of the news-title, but as I said that's personal.

we personally like the background color of the texts, because it is a part of our corporate design.
but do you think that it is too hard to read it?

I didn't mean the background color itself, but I would color the box instead of the text. So instead of three lines for every news-entry where the news title only has a yellow box behind the title, I would go for a block similar as in "Work" where the entrire block is yellow instead of the individual lines.
