photo blog site?

am heading off down under for a year and want to build a site using cmsmadesimple to put up photos, bit of a blog etc. but need it to be very quick and easy to upload the photos in batches with no ftp. any ideas on the best way to go about this? any good modules for this? any1 done the same?

Gallery2 features a java applet that can upload a batch of images fairly effortlessly, not to mention Gallery2 is the most powerful/feature-rich web photo app I've seen. You can download it free from
here.
And you can learn how to integrate it with your CMSMS installation (looks tricky)
here.
