Album, difference between photo's and scans??

Dear all,
Question from a newby in CMSMS.
At
www.koor-stellamaris.nl there are three 'Foto albums'.
Except 'Scans' the albums are based on digital camera files.
The album 'Scans' is based on scanner files (post processed by additional software).
As you can see the index page from the 'Scan' page behaves completely different compared to the index pages based on camera files. The single files of the 'Scan' directory are processed normal.
Does anybody have a clue why there is a difference between processing camera or scanner files?

I had this problem, too. If I remember it correctly, the images have to be viewed in the Image Manager before you put them into galleries - the thumbnails are created then. Check if the thumb pictures are in the folder in which you put your images (I suppose zou did it via FTP). If they are and it's still not working even after another save of the gallery, try deleting and reinserting your images into your gallery.

you have to check the rights on the created thumbnails in the album-folders as well. Using FTP you can check if the thumbnails are available, and also, check (and change) the rights. Make sure that the thumbnails have at least 755. Set "umask" to "022" or "002" in the global settings of "Site admin -> Global settings".

Many people uploading images via ftp create the thumbnails themselves before upload. They have the same name and extension as the big image preceded by 'thumb_'. Ususally around 100px square. With a bit of fiddling you can get all your thumbnails the same size without distoration.
Also check for lower class extensions. Some systems do a mixture or all capitals for extensions.

Thank you all for the hints, tips and tricks.
Since I like to hit a fly with a sledge hammer in solving 'issues' more tips were used at the same time but in my opinion, 'the images have to be viewed in the Image Manager before you put them into galleries' did the trick.
Rights were already 777, umask was 022, and yes, upload was by FTP.
