Error in "News Module"?

I have problems with the News module (I tried to post a question related to this, but got no replies. So I rephrase the issue).
When I write a link in a message in the module, it is formatted like this when using the WYSIWYG editor {cms_selflink page='books_new' text='text' title='New Books'}.
After having been submitted, it looks like this: {cms_selflink page=\'books_new\' text=\'tex\' title=\'New Books\'}. The result is a series of error messages when the message is viewed. If I hand-code, using " instead of ', I do not get the error messages. But the links do not work, as similar charcters are added.
Is there a way to get around this problem and have links in news messages when using the News Module?
