Help integrating phpGACL or LiveUser? Please respond if interested!

Hello

I really, really like CMSMS. I'm making a web application at work, and it's either CMSMS or Drupal, and I am more fond of the former, personally.

However, I find it lacking. There are two issues for me:
  • There are no permissions for front-end
  • The front-end and back-end (currently) use different ACLs with FrontEndUser
Rather than checking whether the current user is a member of a particular group, I find it better for the system to be permission-based, where permissions are assigned to groups. phpGACL or LiveUser would very likely suit these purposes.

I would also like to merge the frontend and the backend login systems, and I would possibly like to add permission checks to the pages via the backend UI.

If anyone has time and would be willing to help with this effort, then please respond ASAP and we can discuss this further (I'm open to discussion). I have time now, and if I don't get a response within a week I will be forced to move to Drupal.

Oh wait...looks like this is in version 2.0 (see http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php?topic=9042.msg57724) -- nevermind. I need something by the middle of the summer though, so I guess I will need to go with something else for now :(
