on line herbal store

I have CMSMS that I downloaded at the beginning of March 2007 (ie not the latest. I would like to set up a online herbal store for a one man band. I would like to display goods and also preferably do sale transactions.
what modules/extensiions would recommend for a small business not being developed by a web designer or programmer. Would like it to be simple, easy to maintain and secure.
Would appreciate help.
