Tell-a-friend tweak needed

Post by junglesilence »

I want to put a link for tell-a-friend next to any article on my site. What I want is a little different version of the tell-a-friend tag available currently.

Essentially I want this link to open a pop-up window that takes the user details and his friend details AND the link of the page the user wants to send to his friend.

Currently, the tag does not open a pop-up window and it takes the url of the page at which we place the tellafriend tag. So even if I make a new page with only the tellafriend form, the link that is being passed on is that of the page with the tellafriend form.

Any clues of what should be done  ???

I changed the tag provided to take the referer-page instead of the page itself. This way you get the URL for the page you pressed the Tell-a-friend.

Thanks RonnyK. There are some other issues with my site right now. I have no clue but I am getting a hundred errors because of some wrong thing somewhere. So let me resolve those errors first, let me just bring them down to a more countable number and then I will play with you strategy. But it sounds good though.

Thanks again :)

You can check it in action on a test-site: (the envelop next to the print-button)

http://test.krijt.eu/

Where it is uses the following code to have captcha embedded as well.

{tellafriend_form emailsubject='Link to a page!' captcha=true}
