Cannot login to Admin/login.php [solved]

SOLVED: Apologies to those who read this and scratched their heads -- I have now realised the problem. I put it here just in case it helps someone in the future:
The new 'resting place' URL is an alias. I had used the longer, non-alias version in my config.php file. Changing it to the alias version corrects everything nicely, and I can now login to admin successfully.
Thanks again!

Hello
I have recently completed a site on a test server, and transferred it to its final 'resting place' on the new server. I also changed the settings on the config.php file. I can see the site on the new server perfectly well.
However, I cannot log in to the admin panel via the new admin/login.php page. Attempts to do so simply re-loadd the admin/login.php file, with blank spaces for login name and password.
At present I still have a complete copy of the site at the old URL. I can log in to the site usuing the old admin/login.php and make changes etc that can be seen on the site in its new location.
Can anyone possibly point me in the right direction to solve this? I am still a beginner at this so apologies if the answer is staring me in the face...
Thanks in advance
PS add me to the many fans of CMSMS -- couldn't have got this far without it!
