"This template is still in use by a page. Please remove it first."

What do I do to remove a template that is definitely not still in use by a page? I have just two pages on the site thus far, and they are both associated with other templates. The template's stylesheet has also been removed.

Why do I need to do this? Because I am trying a wholesale reinstall of Album. My problems with it are detailed here:

Any help would be deeply, deeply appreciated.

K.,

what if you uninstall and delete Album through the module manager, I can imagine that the default template can't be deleted if. What is exactly your problem, I'm using Album and the only issue was that it didn't directly attach the css to my template, so I started without the CSS attached.

The one that needs to be attached to your template:

Code: Select all

'Album Template Stylesheet'

Ronny,

I did uninstall and remove Album via Extensions>Modules. FYI.

Something else to try.... Are you using any Separators, Link or Section Header content types in your hierarchy? They'll still have a template associated with them.

If so, to reassign those templates:
  • Edit each of those types
  • Temporarily change the Content Type to Content
  • If it's using a template you want to delete, change the template to one you intend to keep
  • Change the Content Type back to its previous type
  • Submit or Apply the change
After reassigning, you should be able to delete any templates that were being "used" by those content types. (Keep an eye on the page settings when returning to the original content type; the settings should all be the same, but if you're on a live server, make sure they're still OK before saving the change.)

Hello,

I managed to delete the template.

But I'm reluctant to assign "Solved" to this problem because it came about as a result of my enormous frustration with my install of Album that I detailed here:

http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/index.ph ... 389.0.html

I have completely reinstalled Album and am getting the same result.
