I have started modifying the Bookmarks module and have come quite far. What I am about to do is to make it suitable for a very simple directory of any kind. Sometimes you will then need more fields (I already managed that) and when you have more information, you will not only need categories but also a detailed template, like other plugins have (i.e. Calendar, News).

Then you can have a structure like this

list --> detailed entry ( --> URL-redirect to website )

However, I am not quite sure how to implement this and where to implement it. Maybe someone around here - above all Rob Allen aka akrabat - can point that out to me.

Solved it. Wasn't that difficult. Thanks to sagarkale and his post News Module - separate detail page which brought be to my final solution. Hopefully I will be able to solve the RSS-issue as well as some minor bugs in admin-mode. Then I will post it as a new module here and maybe on the wiki.
