Apostrophes in the Titles

Let me first say that I searched the forum for this answer and couldn't find the answer. I'm probably missing it because I would think that others would question it, too.

When using apostrophes in titles, the cms requires a change of the code so it will appear.

For instance, say the title was: Children's Hospital
The cms requires you to replace the apostrophe with quotations in the code.

Is there a way to fix this?

Also, is there a way to fix it so the cms won't replace the apostrophe with a hyphen in the Page Alias.
For instance, it currently creates: children-s-hospital
I'd like it to create filenames like this: childrens-hospital

Try entering a quote as \' (backslash before the single quote) or use ’ (right-single-quote) instead. You can edit the page alias yourself before you even save the page. It's on the options tab. As long as it's unique, you can use whatever you want. I don't know of a way to change the way CMSMS creates the default alias.

Thanks for the suggestion, skypanther, but it's just as much of a pain as changing the code. I was hoping there was something in the settings that I could change.

I know the page alias can be changed, but I have over 20 writers and it would cause more problems to ask them to do that and get it right than to change a setting to have it do it for them. I was hoping for an easy setting change.

Does anyone know if there is something in the code that I can change to get it to do it automatically.

I'm having the same issue and would also like to know if I can just edit the source code somewhere to allow apostrophes and quotations to be recognized. I am using pretty urls and it seems to break the rss feed in IE 7.
