TrueType Text Module

Hi,

I'm using CMSMS 1.0.2 maui (full specs at http://www.vksjsintlieven.be/index.php?page=system-info)
When uploading "TruetypeText-1.2.1.xml" to my site, I get this error while the module is not installed: ???

Code: Select all

Error parsing XML file. Please make sure you are uploading a .xml file and not a .tar.gz or zip file. (Troubleshooting)
Is there anyone who can help with the installation of this module. I found no threads about the installation of this module, so I hope someone out there can hand me a solution.

I had no difficulties in installing and using other modules like Front End, Custom Content, Calendar on my site. I receive the same error when uploading TruetypeText-1.2.1.tar.gz

Thanks. Piet.

Hello WebPiet,

Perhaps could you do the following things :
- unzip TRuetypetext.tar.gz on your PC
- upload Truetypetext folder to your module directory by FTP
- install using modules administration page on CMSMS

I don't know why this error occured, so manually installing module can be a solution.

I'm actually recoding this module in order to be more easy to maintain and to have correct structure. But new version won't come soon...

Thanks dam for your answer.

I extracted the files and put them in the Modules-folder of CMSMS ... but where can I find the Modules Administration Page to execute the manual install? I went through every page of the Admin Panel but can't find it.

I think dam just means the Modules page, found at the top of the Extensions menu.

Webpiet,

if you´ve uploaded the module-folder using FTP you should go into Extensions -> Modules and select "install" with the uploaded module. The XML upload in Modules basically does the same without requiring a FTP-program. If the module is posted under Module Manager, you can select it and it will be copied in the directory and directly installed. So using "Module" you can either upload XML or FTP the folder manually, after which you have to install.

Hi y'all,

I must've looked over it ... as RonnyK and Jonny mentioned; the module was listed on the Modules-page via menu EXTENSIONS>MODULES :-[ Thanx!

Looks like the long evenings finding everything out about CMSMS are ruining my alertness. ;D

I'm very enthousiast about this True Type Text module ... it works like a charm and opens great possibilities.

Although there's one parameter in the module that I don't understand;

In the tab AUTOMATIC SUBSTITUTION you can choose a tag to replace i.e. and fill in "with parameters". Is there someone who can briefly explain what these parameters are?

I presume the parameters field is provided to allow overriding of the assigned style settings.

I've not yet been able to get Automatic substitution to work anyway (have been clearing the global cache as instructed.) Get the following error:

Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /path/to/cmsms/modules/TruetypeText/TruetypeText.module.php(275) : runtime-created function on line 1

(Using CMSMS 1.0.4)

Well, I'm currently working on the new release of TruetypeText module. Hope it will fix the bugs on Automatic replacement.
