FCK image alignment issue

Anyone aware of a solution to the image alignment "left" or "right" that FCK offers up? While text floats around images in FireFox, in IE 6 and 7 it's ugly.
I know I can fix it with a css class but I'm dealing with totally non-technical users and any extra step like hitting the advanced tab to add a css class would be too complex.
The only solution I can think of is changing the "align" FCK option to float left or right instead, or add another option to FCK for floating the image.
Am I dreaming here or is this possible?
