We're published!

A 4 page article was posted in the German magazine "Internet Intern". Someone sent me a pdf of the article and it is pretty neat, even though I can't read any German. We're in the big leagues now, people. To be put in the same category as Mambo and Typo3 is HUGE!
Anyways, can any of you German users out there get me a copy of it? I'll gladly paypal you the money if you could buy it and ship it to the states. It's the first time I've ever been mentioned in an article and would love to have a copy for prosperity. Please let me know.

Thanks to everyone for their support through our first year (June 10 is the anniversary of svn commit #1). We're having some growing pains, but we're getting there.

Dear wishy,
with this article in the magazin "Internet Intern" I´ve made my first experience with an content management system.
I have all of them tested: Mambo, Typo3 etc. --> too complicate, too heavy!
Looked for one, who is more easy, better implement my own design --> AND FOUND IT!
It´s CMS made simple!
I´m not a specialist of php, html, css and so on. But with CMSMS and the help in this forum I could build my own side very easy.

Thanks a lot.
So I can help you, to say "thank you" in this way.
Please send me your adress, I send you the magazine.
Best Regards

I send a mail to the author of this article and ask him how he can help you. I send you a copy of his answer when it comes.
I'm by myself a great friend of xoops, that was the result of testing many cms systems. Many thousand of a special 100% XHTML version from me (the original isn't) was downloaded.
But xoops and others like mambo etc. are good for portals not für small business and private homepages. Too many functions made this products worthless , it is too complicated to learn this all and to make his own design.
The way of cmsmadesimple is much better (without the CSS in a database, i wish you hold that in normal files, a design can very faster created with tools like Topstyle or so).

Here's the article in English:
CMS made simple
You have lower requirements concerning flexibility and functionality, but you definitely want simplicity? Then you should have a closer look at CMS made simple. The makers promise "So easy, it feels like taking a holiday". One thing in advance: This promise is really kept this time. CMS made simple can be installed and used with ease: It is not going to take you more than one day to check out all the possibilities, including setting up own templates. The reason for the small amount of learning effort is the clear admin section, which can be viewed in German as well. The other reason is the limited number of possibilities. At first, CMS made simple makes simple-looking pages, which seem to be called only by a DHTML menu. But you can't always go by appearances: Using the appropriate symbol tags, other segmentation elements and menu types can be added. Actually, the template management is great: HTML and CSS experts get a tool that allows easy adaption of the site to their own needs. Dynamic sections like CSS, menu, navigation path or, of course, the content are simply integrated through "plug-in modules" like {stylesheet}, {bulletmenu}, {breadcrumbs} or {content}. Thanks to the used "Smarty" template engine, using flexible layouts is easy as child's play: Integrating our holiday house template took us only ten minutes. But some modifications had to be made, before the page was complied with W3C standards. The pages are added in the "content management" section. Pages can be edited with a WYSIWYG editor. Chose the desired level and content type and the user who is also to receive access, if necessary. The CMS is not very good for groupware activities: The user management is restricted to granting or not granting access. You can learn more on installing and using CMS made simple in our article "Individual layout with CMS made simple".
Conclusion
CMS made simple is the ideal starting point for "warming up" with CMS tools and having quick success. Due to its limited functionality and simplistic user management, CMS made simple is not suitable for large companies; for HTML experts, it offers high flexibility because of its clever template tools.
The mentioned in-detail-article about CMSms is quite nice, too. It features installation, entering content, template management, template-making, additional modules and even umlaut problems. They used the 0.9 stable for their testing. It seems to me that they actually do underestimate the permission management!
I made this rough translation as a basis for both critical discussion leading to an even improved CMSms and to encourage documentation efforts. So, go ahead!

opensourceCMS.com has updated the "CMS top hits" (
http://opensourcecms.com/index.php?opti ... id=401#bef) listing,
and as you can all see, CMS Made Simple is number 4!
This is a great achievement. It shows that the concepts brought forward by Wishy and the other developers is
something that is highly appreciated by the CMS community.
By the way the top three on the list are CivicSpace, Mambo and Exponent.
Congratulations!
Jon

Wow, that's an interesting statistic.
We're also the top 13th (we were #11 a few days ago) rated CMS (
http://www.opensourcecms.com/index.php? ... roup=OSCMS). And to be honest, they're still judging 0.9.2... I think 0.10 will make that number jump up again. We're already beating Typo3, Xaraya and others. We were above Drupal before. I think we should be higher, but whatever...
We've been around a lot shorter time than most of those systems, so it's cool. We're getting there...
