CMS Made Simple Forums

I have a couple of php - POP3/IMAP email clients that I would like to port to CMSMS.

I have never written of module before but looking at the source from others I "think" i have a clear understanding of the process.

I would like to
1) gauge interest in such a module
2) solicit support from someone who has successfully developed a module.

@ptysell : I don't understand what "porting a mail client to a CMS" means... unless it is the same as including a forum ?
If true, my own interest is very low because of my usage of CMSms. But other users could like it.

A POP3/IMAP E-Mail client would enable you to use your E-mail through CMS (check mail, send mail, manage mail, etc.).

Thank you Dee. Here is my feedback :

To make "corporate"/institutional/"public presence"/"information broadcasting"/"call it your way" websites (in fact nearly static webpages, a few webmasters and lost of anonymous surfers) I think CMSms core (+only news and calendar) is very cool.

To make "collaborative"/workgroup/community/portal/"call it your way" websites (a few admins, numbered registered users and anonymous surfers) I think addons like forum, comments, feedback, et caetera can do it. And may be an email tools fits right as a communication tool.

I'm not a coder, but may I suggest that the FrontEndUsers module could have a serious (center? pivot?) role promoting CMSms in the portal software landscape ?
