Installing or Upgrading to 1.9 - Problems and Solutions

Last week I upgraded from 1.9.2 to 1.9.4.2 and I now get a "problem loading cache" error on my front page (well all my pages actually) this also includes anywhere displaying pages, like in admin -> content -> pages

I imagine that it has something to do with the cache... (obviously) but I have no clue what is wrong or how to fix it. Any ideas?

FYI: I upgraded another site from and to the same versions at the same time. The other site looks just fine (after having 'edited' the template without changing anything).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: Just checked my numbers, was from version 1.9.2 to 1.9.4.2 I upgraded, not 1.8.2 to 1.9.2.4
Update: Problem solved! In 'Server Cache Settings' I set the remove files for '1 day' saved and cleared the cache (and apparantly, this time it worked!)

I wrote too soon - now I have the same cache problem again and this time I have no clue how to solve it =0(

I have upgraded two sites to 1.9.4.3 and both have got stuck at stage 3 of the upgrade. Unforuately there is no warning or error displayed and repeated attempts to upgrade always get to the same stage.

With the first site I ended up running the install again and loosing everything, the database was wiped of my content, which unfortunately I hadn't backed up for a while and ended up loosing quite a lot.

The second site is stuck at stage 3 and I don't seem to be able to progress it further.
