Actually that is not entirely correct. CMSMS won't need them but Cataloger in its current version still needs them. That will be fixed in the next version, but I don't have a set time-frame for the next release.
The only explanation for a sudden change in behavior of the current installation, if no other changes have been made to the CMSMS/Cataloger configuration in 5 years, is undoubtedly a server change. No other cause afaik would explain this.

Попробуйте перезалить файлы модуля поверх существующих. Только версию не перепутайте.

It was a server change, but I didn't read the message about it because it was accidentally marked as spam...
And now the problem is solved.
