Well, it's fixed, alright... 
You were right, it was {stylesheet}. It is 1.10.3 - and I really don't know how I've missed it. What is even more strange, the site worked perfectly fine - except this MT issue. I was even happy when I sow I didn't have to change image paths in CSS.
