I think we need to wait for 1.9.4 version, but dont know when its coming. Soon anyway I think, since its under testing already.

A work around is to avoid using Image Manager to upload images. Go to Extensions>TinyMCE WYSIWYG. Go to Profiles tab and select 'Show file management options' field.
Then to add image into page, when in Content area of page, click on tree 'add image' icon on toolbar. You will now see an extra area above the file/folder listings that allows a new directory to be created here and files uploaded. Thus doing away with Image Manager. A bit quicker as you can add straight away into page rather than doing Image Manager route and then page.
