Code: Select all

<div id="page">
Please try it again  ;) ...

Hi,
Annette wrote:
I posted a question about it in the layout section but the suggestions I received still didn't enable it to work.

I still have one problem though. The navigational top headers are 2 separate graphic/html files and in my non cms pages they sit on top of each other without any problems. Within the cms pages for some reason there is a gap between the graphics. The code is exactly the same and I've played with many settings in the stylesheets etc to try and get rid of this but with no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions. Here is a non cms page http://www.rivapetz.com.au/Home.php and here is the cms page http://www.rivapetz.com.au/cms/index.php

PLEASE NOTE: This site is still under construction.

I would appreciate any help....thanks
I stumbled onto this post and out of curiosity visited both of your links.  I see that cyberman has been helping you, but I still see the gap of white between your images and the top menu.  I viewed your source codes for each and even though you have cleaned up all suggestions by cyberman there are still some more too clean up.

Here is what I see in your cmsms page (copy and paste from top of your source code):
========================

The Rivapetz team offer professional grooming for your dog or cat

=========================================

Not sure how you are running your pages through cmsms but for some reason it/you have generated two "doctype" lines.  Also, your "body" tag is within the "head" tag and there is a "p" tag in the "head" as well.  My guess is if you remove the this "p" tag and move your "body" tag out of the "head" section it should clear up your remaining problem.  I have not viewed the entire source codes but you can start from there and see if it works.

Also, if you can give a link of your other post about this problem, so I know what has been suggested.  Good luck =)

Sincerely,
David

Hi Netti,

After further analyzing your cms site, I think I know what you are doing.  cms made simple is really simple so lets keep it simple.  ;D.

Templates in cms holds your html  head body open/close tags (typically).  Pages holds your page content for that page and is called from the templates with smarty tag {content}.  You do not need to add html head body tags to your pages. If you need  embed javascript that is shared with all pages you can add it to the template with {literal} your javascript {/literal}.  If you need  embed style that is shared on all pages you can add it to the template with {literal} your style {/literal}.  However, you can call your style by making a stylesheet in cms and attaching it to the template.  Than in templates call stylesheet with smarty tag {stylesheet}.  After you layout your framework (your template).  Make smarty calls by placing predefined tags like {content}, {metadata}, {stylesheet} in your template.  Attach each page with a template and cms does the rest (knows which "content" to show) depending on what page you navigate to.

You can use snippets of content by adding it to "global content blocks" and call this where ever you need it (in pages or on the template) by using smarty tag {html_blob name="name you gave to your global content"}.  Of course no spaces when making up global content names.

I think you are over thinking cmsms.  ;D

Basic template:
=================

{title}
{metadata}
{stylesheet}

{literal}

embed javascript needed on everypage
// YOU CAN ALSO USE EXTERNAL JAVASCRIPT BY ADDING IT TO YOUR HEAD LINK NORMAL HTML
}

{/literal}

{content}

==============

So you do not need to physically type the html/head/body when you make your pages.  You attach/assign a template to each of your separate pages.  This is just the basics and in general terms.  More great features available on cmsms but other post have already touched on it.  Hope that helps.  ;)

ps - most likely the extra tag in your source code is causing the extra white space.

Sincerely,
David

I have problems ebedding javascript in to the site.

I have CJ account, they have now changed the way they present there affiliates, now they have javasript in stead of simple html code.  Now when I use cmsmadesimple, the code seems not to be runned.

Code: Select all

<__script__ type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.dpbolvw.net/placeholder-660133?target=_top&mouseover=N"></__script>
With in the CMS system:
http://www.netferdir.net/ny/expedia.html

When I paste the code in:
http://www.netferdir.net/expo.html

Any ideas how to make the new javascript code function with in the cms system?

Have you tried this

Code: Select all

{literal}<__script__ type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.dpbolvw.net/placeholder-660133?target=_top&mouseover=N"></__script>{/literal}
