Is it too late to plug our company? Oklahomawebhost.com
We support php opensource applications, as well a fully ASP, or ASP.NET applications.
We've got great pricing (IMHO), and offer discounts, including first month free.

I've just registered my latest project with
www.royaltyhosting.com . They're servers are very fast, and their prices are good enough for me.

I really like Lunarpages (
http://www.lunarpages.com). They offer the best quality/price ratio I've tested by now: a reliable service, fast and accurate support, and great service levels even in their cheaper plans.
Regards.

Okay, I'll put in my two cents worth. I am a web hosting reseller with
The Prime Host for over three years and just upgraded my reseller account. They take security
very seriously -- as I've just recently discovered -- but I consider that to be a Good Thing. The low cost means that they don't provide hand-holding support, especially for anything not strictly server-related, but if it involves any of the server apps, they will provide prompt and courteous assistance. If it's something they don't cover, they are pretty good at explaining why.
As for me, I provide excellent service

, mostly for clients I have designed web sites for; however, I would like to make my hosting a low cost alternative for bloggers and non-profit organizations for starters, providing installation of WordPress and CMS Made Simple as part of the packages. My current site is
Uniquely Yours Business Services. I'm in the middle of the transition, so there will be changes to the site.

here's a good one...
NOT
working on a client site hosted at ipowerweb. i didn't pick the host (waiting for their year term to expire before moving the site)..
here's the details:
300 gb of disk space and 3000 gb of transfer (
which is the same as 9.35 mbit sustained for the entire month *) for 8 bucks a month, including domain name. the thing is, the entire stinkin' server only has 2x250gb hard drives (raid mirror) with a
total /home/ partition size of 208 gb, and
only 57.9 gb is free. how the fark are they supposed to use their entire plan when the whole server couldn't even hold it (they got about 299.96 gb left to go on their plan)? i've heard of overselling, but "impossible-selling".. that's just b.a.d..
* calculator is the handiest thing at google

I'll agree with Kermit on this one. I had 3 sites hosted at iPowerWeb a few years ago. They were even over-selling back then. I am not sure if things have gotten better (doesn't look like it), but they had frequent outages, their customer support was lacking and found loop holes to avoid their uptime guarantee. Some people have had good experiences with them I haven't. I have hosted with iPowerWeb, PowWeb, and ixHosting in the past. All three were the same over-sell, poor customer support and downtime.
I am currently with QualityHostOnline.com on one of their reseller plans. I have had good luck with them. I have been with them for over a year and haven't had one gripe yet. I also have a few types of downtime tracking (I started using them to track my past three hosts) and I honestly cannot remember any of my sites ever being down. I know someone else that hosts with QualityHostOnline and they said that in the past when there was downtime they notified you and explained the cause when the problem was rectified.

I have our current site hosted with
www.csnewmedia.co.uk They are based in the UK and extremely friendly, helpful, reliable and value, and I will be hosting our new cmsms site with them as well.
We had 3, no 4 I think! different web hosts before a friend recommended them. They helped move everything for us in the middle of the night to avoid disruption, and I swear they don't sleep because they always answer support tickets very quickly. Another thing I really like is their friendly forum. Like here, I think it is important to see a comminuty spirit as it shows that people think it is worth their valuable time sticking around

I am the volunteer webmaster for a large nonprofit cultural organization (
http://www.mngujaratisamaj.org). Ever since I installed CMSms a week ago, I have a few times gotten a Database Error: Too many connections.
I am using ipowerweb, which I personally don't like. mySQL has a limit of 100 users on at one time. At most, I get about 40 hits a DAY, but never 100 at once. Is this ipowerweb's fault. Why do you guys not like ipowerweb?
I am looking for a quality host in the U.S. that has good customer support and will never go away. Idealy, I want something under $10/month. What are your suggestions?
Thanks!!

Dreamhost will give free unlimited virtual hosting to verified and registered non-profits. Their servers allow ssh and they have a pretty good supprt wiki. I run bandwidth-intensive media file hosting for some sites using such a setup. Also I use it for remote backups and for development.
If you want personal service on a fast, reliable, up-to-date cPanel or Webmin/Virtualmin server, I work for a dev/hosting company. We offer "upgraded" hosting for non-profits. e.g. if you pay for the 19.95/mo hosting package, you can have a premium 24.95/mo package. We give personal 9-5 EST phone service and are experts in Joomla (Hot Properties, sh404SEF, Virtuemart), phpBB (tight security & anti-spam hacks), Wordpress (ECalendar, PodPress), and we are currently learning CMSMS. We run our own NOC with dual redundant multi-homed DS3's and are soon to add OC3.

I'd suggest taking a look at pair.com
They have excellent support, an active support forum and a variety of plans including dedicated servers if you need that level of control/performance. As for me, I have the Webmaster account which gives me lots of space to host my client accounts (currently I have 18 domains hosted in my account) The Webmaster Account is $29.95 and includes the following...
- 200GB/month transfer
- 3000MB disk space
- 20 MySQL databases
- 2000 mailboxes
- 20 additional FTP logins
- Access by SSH and FTP
I've also have two accounts with 1and1 but I have not been pleased with it. The servers are very very sluggish, especially when working with CMSMS. Often times I will have to wait 15-20 seconds after making a change in admin for anything to happen from the server. Ridiculously slow.
And I've had an account with hostrocket.com, which is cheap and not worth even cheap. It got hacked more times than I could count and suport is abysmal.
