Hi all,

mww's overview fairly accurately describes what I would do too!!

You may be getting permission denied if you did not give the MySQL user proper permissions for the new database?

If you have root access and permission to install a user agent on the server via ssh, ie. not shared hosting, I can provide continuous data protection via R1Soft CDP remote backup server at about $1/GB/month/Canadian $.

And, if you happen to use cPanel, R1Soft will install a new icon in the panel for access to backup right from your control panel :)

Good luck and GREAT job testing a backup & recovery before it's actually needed!!

thanks for help everyone. Just made a successful backup and restore! Captcha module didnt work but that cant be fixed with re-install im sure. I can rest easy now!

Next thing is to upgrade to the latest version, i guess il look in the faq for this?? Or can you help.

Applejack, dont think I have root access, this only starts with the virtual servers, they're about £25 per month, I am sort of considering upgrading, not sure yet though...

Im ok at the moment, I use 1&1 and have done for a while, I have two pro accounts with them and we're running about 30 sites at the moment (As I also work for an IT company).

Thanks for all the help though, I owe you both a favour.
