sorry JeremyBass.... not gonna do that.
However, we are thinking of distributing CMS Made Simple in another format, that includes all of the e-commerce modules, and possibly has a customized installer. To make it easier for people building e-commerce centric websites to install all of the e-commerce modules all at one shot.
We're just tossing around the idea at this time though. No promises.

Hi, I'm Spike, pretty new here, very happy with CMS so far, have a wholesaler customer for an ecommerce site, the old site runs a perl/cgi and is not very elegant by todays standards - I need: product listing - order with quantity - no tax calculation - ship free after 200 euros - but no payment processing whatsoever - simply send the order - is this possible with any of the cms modules at the present time? if so which ones?
if I can do this and sell it to the customer - I can also donate - your assistance appreciated.
all other cms shopping solutions seem to be completely over-the-top with very little concept of the real business world.
regards - spike

Products+Cart+Orders+PaymentBasedShipping .... that'll do the trick.

Thanks calguy,
for your rapid reply. I'll give your recommendation a spin -
my best wishes to Calgary - My Uncle Bill Smith from Calgary came to visit us 54 years ago,
I was seven years old at the time, he stayed a whole week with my family and hardly spoke a word.
I can remember asking my mum "Why doesn't Uncle Bill say anything?"
but she hushed me up pretty quick.
Excuse my digressing, it's always stuck in my mind.
regards and thanks again - spike

The E-commerce solution that Ted and I have authored is undergoing an overhaul as follows:
This will result in a release of 9 or more modules relating to the e-commerce suite, at the same time. Resulting in an extremely flexible, plug-and-play e-commerce solution for CMS Made Simple.
Calguy let me know what kind of financial input you need to make this work for the community as a whole... we have an ecommerce need for many customers and I'm sure I can come up with what's required.

Hi calguy I'm refferring to this from the original post
this leaves $600 unpaid. and right now, we can't recall who that other person was without going through a hella lot of IRC logs.
Is the combo of 9+ modules from Ted and yourself (which I have working) the final release of the system originally paid for by pat-in-wv or did they get a special system... if so does their version offer more features and if so what can I do to help 'release it' into the community?
Thanks

Hey Calguy:
I'm so happy to hear that ecormmerce has come to CMSMS. I've spent the better part of 3 hours reading through a ton of threads on various solutions. Since time is always of the essence, i cannot spend time downloading and testing the various options. Yours seems to be quite robust and my past experience with your modules have always worked out.
To my questions. I will be using the latest version of CMSMS for a new client. the client is selling a digital product with payment through Paypal.
- Can your 9+ modules handle digital downloads?
- Do I need all the modules?
- Is there a specific order to installing them to avoid errors?
- Are payments being done on the Paypal site or on the client site?
- if client site, will the cart work when i install an SSL?
- I know Paypal can be configured to send out notification to both the merchant and the buyer. Do I need to configure this option or does the cart handle email notification of sale?
I have very little time to get the project launched and I appreciate any suggestions. thank you.

Duketown,
I have a client who would like to you your eCommerce solution, but instead of payment via a commercial gateway, he would like to capture the order information and, via some kind of form (I guess) and a secure page, have the credit card info/order info emailed to him. Is it possible to use your system someway to accomplish this?

Reidjazz,
I would say, copy the PayPal gateway and modify it, so it will not go to PayPal, but open your form. Customer would enter the info and this would be stored.
Ofcourse you would have to build enough security measures to use/save this type of information.
