[SOLVED]Links in menu lead to 404 error message--page not found

It seems that I forgot to add the .htaccess file to the cms root directory.  My .htaccess file looks like this:

#Rewrites page.shtml as index.php?page

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ index.php?page=$1 [QSA]

Note that my config.php contains:

$config['query_var'] = 'page';

Now I can set:

Code: Select all

$config['use_hierarchy'] = true;

and I don't get the 404 error any more.
