And we need more themes.
Maybe this is your chance to give back a little bit to CMS. If you have a bit of spare time, and maybe, potentially, would like to learn a little bit more about how to use CMS efficiently, this may be an opportunity.
I have just Uploaded a Theme called
Ablaze adapted from Styleshout.com and more to come in the future, i hope i will catch some more time to Design my own Theme for the Theme section, but since Customers are more important i will be only implementing some OpenSource themes i find around the web.

Great idea to re-work the Themes site! For what it's worth, I would suggest the first page provide the following info:
1. Name - just the name and version (if applicable), no extra comments
2. Date - release date
3. Author - name of the author (and perhaps email address for support questions)
4. Summary - basic important facts, like fluid or fixed, # of columns, menu type(s) and, if applicable, anything special or really unique about the template
If I'm looking for fluid, 3-columns and horizontal menu with 2 levels, the summary tells me right away if I should look closer or not.
Good luck with this project!

I am missing the option "report/email on new comment" i think this would give some better support to users if the creator of template recives a message about new comment.
So if a user posts a comment with a problem, the creator of template can reply on time and not 1 year later

Maybe a searchbox wiith some checkboxes like "fluid" "2 column" "3 column" "fixed" "dark colours" "bright colours" etc. would be nice feature to.

The themes site is not using frontendusers but will hopefully use it soon.
at the moment themes is just using uploads and comments module, thats all. if you can code something and send it to me or reneh, we will look at the code and see what we can include.
i guess there must be a new module just for themes which will contain much more fields because uploads is not the best for that.

Can you add a RSS feed of the comments and then the author can be notified of the comments that way?
