Yes, i use Total Cmd as a file/ftp software. There is an option "change attribute" for file permissions, shows everything.
I'll try FilleZilla, maybe you're right it's unsafe to do it with total cmd.

if you are happy the smarty templates and cache are writable then when you run the system you should see files in there, if you dont then perhaps they are not writable.
The only other thing to do is to start editing the source code by inserting echo "here"; at various points. This will show you where the processing stalls and may indicate a missing include, or inaccessible file.
Other problems can be an imperfect PHP installation e.g. the sessions directory is wrong.
Alternatively sign up yourself with a better host on a trial basis, repeat everything you have done and see if that works. then run phpinfo() on both servers and compare the results.

You may want to try the support tool, link below, it will show what is or isn't writable...

Ok, now I try to test cmsms on another service provider (has to be much better). Also I got permission from my client to move to this provider if I succeed with installation. Well, the problems are totally different, i.e. the site is not working at all. Although I think the problem isn't with php memory limit here. At the first installation check, everything passed except "Checking if sessions are enabled" where I got yellow circle. At the step 4, I got green "Success!".
Finally, take a look at my site at this point
http://www.boonshop.co.rs/test_cms/
I used FileZilla for uploading content and setting permissions.
Also, when I log in, some strange messages appears in some parts of the main page, you can take a look:
http://www.boonshop.co.rs/test_cms/admin/index.php user:admin, pass:admin
This is just a test folder, so no harm could be made if you log in and take a look
I tried different versions, absolutely the same thing (now it's 1.2.5 installed)
There has to be solution, I developed whole site on my friends private hosting and cmsms works excellent. Just have to move the site to a local provider.
Thank you very much
