Tested http://www.phphq.net/?script=phPhotoAlbum
on my website. Works as advertised. Put phPhotoAlbum.php in a folder, put folder named album below that, copy jpg or gif files to album folder, point your browser to phPhotoAlbum.php. Subfolders under album can be created and files uploaded from the admin login. Simplicity personified!

Very interesting. I'll try and take a few minutes and check it out. Hopefully the code is easy enough to make into a module.

I know gallery very well. I also know it's codebase. It's not written in a way that could be useful to us. In order to intergrate with any of the other CMSs, it basically has to be written into gallery itself.
However gallery2 will change this. The architecture is beautiful. But, it's still alpha. I've already been toying with the idea of making it a module anyway, though, alpha or not.
Is there any news on this one?
I have used gallery 1 for awhile, and thought I should test galllery2
I found a README which may be useful.

Maybe I should have a look...

No, nothing yet... I'm still waiting for the thing to go beta before even looking at it. I can't wait, though. I'm ready to start using it myself.

mailinglist/newsletter
Finally came to the point of registering myself
I know this topic hasn't been used for a while, but I'd love to see a newsletter/mailinglistfunction as a module of CMSMS.
And if their comes one, could it please be one in which I can use some HTML, like adding a backgroundimage?

Re: Module requests
Are we still needing a gallery script? I might have something that will work.
Re: Module requests
I second the newsletter/mailinglist proposal from TNTH. I need optional subscribtion to multiple lists. Maybe integration of Jaxnewsletter or phpList would be an approach?
Re: Module requests
Would a canendar or event manager module be coming soon? or do us people who don't code have to use tables for along bit yet
Re: Module requests
There are 2 calendar modules floating around. The 2nd one is called Kalendar. I don't remember the URL off the top of my head, but searching for "Kalendar" on the forum should make it turn up.
Re: Module requests
If I may say so I would suggest implementing a 'newsletter' module. For this you can use the following generic (open source) class module:
http://phpmailer.sf.net/
Even integrate this with a signup/signout option for the newsletter. My clients like this very much and currently this is done outside the CMS system, but integrating this would also be great.
Just looked on the following link and saw that there are many mailing list/newsletter manager applications. I don't know if someone has experience with some of them and if it is possible to integrate them with CMS Made Simple.

Re: Module requests
2 things i would like to see in CMSms:
- Search engine friendly links,
- Support for embedding users PHP without making module or user defined tags.
For the rest, updating the Sitemap plug-in so it doesn't show pages that are not shown in the menu is a real bonus.
And is it me, or is the support of other languages not complete yet?
