Hi there,
I provided the info from my client's cmsms system info, but I haven't had any response - are the settings right/wrong?
Is my assumption about the stylesheet cache setting right/wrong?
Can anyone please help?

Yes you are right about the stylesheet cache. Are you able to watch the stats and CPU usage daily and do you notice any affect made by the changes?

WebGirl: The settings and assumptions seems reasonable to me.
This site may also be of interest for fine tuning speed of a site:

and maybe try out YSlow also

Thank you ajprog! Phew, glad to know I've made the right assumption re stylesheet cache.
Yes I can access traffic stats and CPU load stats daily - my client is in another country, so I'm just waiting for a 24 hour period since I changed the stylesheet cache info - fingers are crossed for good luck
reneh - thank you I've had a look at the page you mention and YSlow -
http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/
What I am looking for is specific instructions on CMSMS in relation to CPU load, and what else it could be apart from the stylesheet cache. Once I get the answers that fix these issues I'll make video clips/tutorials for the forum with the new knowledge

- PS - when the site is a static html site, it does not have a CPU load problem, and handles thousands of visitors a week without any problems.
I've spent the past few weeks in the forum trying out many things and asking questions about this major problem, as I am reluctant to take on any more CMSMS clients until this issue can be solved - it's probably something really simple, I just have to learn what it is
Thank you so much for your comments everyone!

Hi Viebig, thanks for this - I've googled "htaccess cache" but I don't know what I'm supposed to do with all the info I've found.
I read many posts and don't know which one to implement for cmsms.
For example on this page -
http://www.askapache.com/htaccess/speed ... ching.html :
Apache .htaccess caching code
====
# 1 YEAR
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=29030400, public"
# 1 WEEK
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=604800, public"
# 2 DAYS
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=172800, proxy-revalidate"
# 1 MIN
Header set Cache-Control "max-age=60, private, proxy-revalidate"
Is this a good example of what you'd recommend?
Do I copy all of that exactly as it is, and paste it into the htaccess file for my cmsms client site?
