Calguy1000 I'm lovin' this module.  Great work!

I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.2.  I am experiencing some behavior which I don't think normal.  Any changes made when editing a banner do not stick with the exception of the expiry date.  For example; if I change the Expires to 'never' and save that change doesn't stick.

Suggestions:
- Rotation - allow an interval (other than random) to be defined.  this could be on the preferences tab
- View stats - ability to view stats without editing the banner

I understand the concern re 3rd party hosted banners.  Personally it would be a non-issue as the third party would typically report the stats (like google or amazon).

I'll check into the edit things and get back to you asap.

I'll think about the rotation stuff, but have gotten myself into another module or two already

a sucker for punishment I am.

looks like you're using the tag incorrectly,

send me your {cms_module module=Banners ........ }  stuff?

minimum requirements are:

{cms_module module=Banners category=category}

you may get this error if your category doesn't exist.

This happens in edit category, or add category of the Uploads module when you haven't put a path into the field.

The path that you enter will be created (if it doesn't already exist) beneath the uploads directory of the install root.

Note, yo will also need to create a corresponding category in the banners module.

testing of the banners module is in progress now, but that seemed to work fine here
I'll trace down any occurrances where "Database Error" can occur.
but you say it's when creating a new banner.... hmmm.

after refreshing my memory, and looking through the code, I was able to reproduce the "database error" when adding a banner only when I left some fields blank.

i.e:  the only optional fields are the additional link, and image text, the others are all required (name, description, image name, url, etc).

Hope this helps.
