Event Registration Form and Reporting

Post by TJINAK »

Hello,

I'm working on a non profit project at http://akmensministries.com using CMS Made Simple 1.1.4.1 "Taga".

I'm in need of setting up a way for vistors to register for confrences that are being sponsored by our group.

Requirments are for a registration form and simple reporting:

First name
Last Name
Street Address
City,
State
Zip
phone
e-mail
Church
special needs?

we need to generate name tags for the retreat,  mass e-mailings ,  print out
registration lists for retreat attendees to check in.

I have a dead line fast approaching and thought maybe someone on the forums knew of an existing way to handle my requirments.

I don't know how to build modules for cmsms but I do know how to write basic forms using PHP and MySQL.  I believe I could also create a page to allow the admin to email all users of the registered event.  Not sure if I can write the queries that would generate the name tags.

We also need to be able to link to paypal to collect fees/donations for the events.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

TJ

Hey, forms and donations are easy if you just use Eventbrite.  You can also include their widget on your page.  Give it a try, let me know =D!

@ryean do you work for them? that's 3 time you promoted it...

@TJINAK  off domain widgets slow sites down...

My suggestion to you is update CMSMS first... but you can use form builder to make a simple form for users that gets emailed... that's the fast easy way... if you need more power you can try FEU (frontend users) to add it in... tie that with form builder, ... you could even tie calendar to it... really you can go as in depth as you wish...

here is a contact form in a simple way from formbuilder...
http://www.corbensproducts.info/make-contact.html

then you can just add the other fields and the is a basic setup... but thinking of it now, for your needs,  FEU/self reg setup may be all you'd need... that reg form could have all the field you asked for... that'd be quick too....  Look to the wiki for a step by step

Hope that helps...

Cheers
