Planned Downtime - 27 Jul 2005

Post by Ted »

We're having some issues with a bad hard drive.  The site (and all CMSMS related stuff) is going down at around 11am GMT.  We're hoping to do a disk->disk copy and be back up in a couple of hours.  If that doesn't work for some reason, I'll have to reinstall stuff and it could take the rest of the evening.  We'll see...

edit: I accidentally put Sep instead of Jul.  Thanks Pat.  :)

Well, it's been relatively painless bringing everything back online.  They didn't do a disk->disk copy, so I'm slowly restoring services as I go.  If you see something that's a little out of whack, please let me know tomorrow.  This is still going to take awhile...

Thanks!

Ok, so after I wrote this message, I upgraded the kernel and rebooted.  The server never came back up.

They rebooted the box this morning and it came right up.  I'm not totally sure of what was up, but it's working and that's what is important.  :)

Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience.  We're up again (for now).
