CMS for me?

Post by JJJack »

Hello all, I was wondering before I put allot of effort into CMS if it was the sofware that I need. I am loooking at making a SQL database that can be queried on my web site and then display the results of this query. I suspect that the queries will use the SQL language and be packaged in an html web page that uses PHP. Does CMS help to do that? I am trying to get a handle on what CMS actually does? If CmS is not the right tool, what is?  Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

Jacques

if you have a working php script that gets data from a db table you can easily modify it to be a user defined tag (just strip out and paste the script in a udt) then you can call it from cmsms page or template easily with {your_udt_name}.

or you can develop a module which can then have a admin part for it also...

hope this helps

JJJack, to sanwer your question, CMS Made Simple uses PHP and the MySQL query language.

It is a simple web application for the creation of database-driven websites.
