Easy (hopefully) Theme Install Question

Post by wescb »

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm unable to find it searching through the forums.

Basically, I have CMSMS 1.0.2 (latest AFAIK) and want to install the theme "Pearl" (http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/Full_Themes.html).

The readme.txt in the downloaded ZIP is a bit too sparse for me (a newb) to figure out exactly what to do. How do I go about adding these files (.css, .tpl, .mm) to my CMSMS install? The built in upload in Theme Manager complains about a DTD version mismatch and through various attempts to add the code from the files manually to new stylesheets, menus, and templates I've been able to get some of it to show up, but never like it looks on the example (no images, etc).

Sorry again for this being so simple but after a few hours I figure I must be missing something. :-)

Thanks in advance,
Wes

If it is in .zip form then you need to open the files, .css, .tpl, .mm, in an editor, use something simple like notepad so it doesn't add formatting, then in your site go to Layout » Templates and click Add New Template copy/paste the .tpl into it, name it, click submit...

You will need to do this with each file, .css in stylesheets...

The .mm needs to be renamed to .txt so it will open then you can paste it in the Menu Manager as a new menu template...

The images have to be in uploads/images/templates/pearl/ to get them to show in the page...
