I just updated a site to the latest 2.2.22. The client has lots of PDF files in this project and just informed me that he can no longer sort them in the file picker, something that was possible in the previous version. FileManager also only offers the option to sort by filename or size, but not date.
Is there a way to sort files by date that I am overlooking?

I don't think you have missed anything that functionality doesn't seem to be in the FilePicker.
It could be added though, so I'll see if I can do some work on this before the next core release. I'll let you know if a beta version comes available.
It also seems to be a good idea to add the sort by date functionality into File Manager.
I'll create feature requests for both of those. Thanks for highlighting these. Sorry there is not an immediate fix.
