CMSMS evolution

Post by pierrepercee »

Hello,

For several months, very few corrections have been visible on the SVN. Does this mean that the planned change of platform has been implemented? If so, is it possible to access the new platform to be able to observe the developments of CMSMS?

The team working on the git migration haven't completed it yet, but it is still in the works. Development on the core hasn't moved, but has still mostly been focused on forks and maintenance of popular modules.

Thank you Digi3,

Do you know if Core and main modules will be fully compatible with PHP 8.2 when it will be released in April?
Is there a fixed list of modules affected by the update and if so, can we consult it?

I think the only way to see recently updated modules would be at http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/latest_files - no way to filter just ones worked on by the Foundation devs though.

We're hoping for some more PHP 8.2 updates on the core before the release but it may not have all warnings/notices fixed.

Is there anything planned for translators to update their files?
Directly via github or always via TC or another solution?
For example, today, it's not possible to translate the userguide2 on the TC, as there's no link .... In fact, the French list seems incomplete.

Yes, lots of old tech that needs to be replaced. Ideally it will all be easier once we redo the Forge.

the next release will be available for download on April the 8th 2024.( from your newsletter)
Is there any possibility of testing the future version 2.2.20 with its new userguide2 module, as I don't see any commit on the SVN?
- the last /trunk/ commit was on 08/02/2024
and a bunch of uncorrected bugs
- the last userguide2 commit was on 09/11/2021
and contains at least 1 uncorrected critical bug that I've re-reported
Any information would be appreciated
