error in admin log

Post by ankel »

Hi,

for some time I have been trying to calmly update and even rewrite the page (appearance), which until now stands on CMSMS 1.12

Before I do this, however, I must act on what I have.

There is a problem. On the server that I have, I have been generating a very heavy database load for a month and I don't know what caused it.

The following errors appear in the administrator's log:
1: Error: Unable to load template module_db_tpl 'News
2: Error: Syntax error in template "module_db_tpl: New
there are definitely more type 1 errors
(I counted and occurred about 7,500 times in a month!)

My guess is that this is not the whole error, but I don't know where I can see the whole string. Can anyone help me with this?

Or maybe someone had such a case and can somehow help me?

CMSMS version: 1.12
News version: 2.15.1

Sorry for my English...

Make sure there's a default template set for News summary and detail, and then look for any {News} calls that may be specifying a template that doesn't exist. This would be easier in 2.x as there's an Admin Search, as well as better error logging.

You could probably just go ahead and upgrade, the problem will probably reveal itself in a much more obvious way (like taking the site down with a proper error message).
