There was a problem communicating with the module server

Post by Maxii »

Hi Guys,

i have a big problem with my older websites who are running still on 1.12.2. Every time i try to get on the ModulManager i get the error message:
"There was a problem communicating with the module server" - i can't open my updates/installed modules. Nothing. I have this problem on serverel websites that run on 1.12.2, but not on all!

Does someone know a solution for this problem?
Thank you!

You can always download XML files from the forge and upload/install it at your website. But you may face problems here because you can install modules that are not compatible with the CMS version...

The best option is to upgrade the CMS! Not because of this, but because since 1.12.2 there are several vulnerabilities fixed in core and modules...

I have seen this problem intermittently on 2.2.4, and this morning I saw it intermittently on 2.2.5 on one of my sites.

I would also strongly recommend you spend the time to upgrade to 2.2.5. Doing it sooner rather than later will save you more headaches down the road...
