TinyMCE WYSIWYG advhr not working?

I am struggling to get the horizontal line feature in Tinymce to work.

I am using cms version 1.12 and Tiny 2.9.12.

The tool is showing in the tab bar,

bold,italic,underline,strikethrough,advhr,separator,bullist,numlist,************

And this is the code in the html:-

<hr style="width: 200px;" width="200" />

with a width set to 200 but nothing shows on the page.

can anyone explain what is wrong? All other features seem to work fine.

This is way too little information to go on but I will guess you are using a default template which has CSS to hide all HR....

Yes I am using a copy of a default template (Left simple navigation + 1 column) renamed and a few small changes. But I see no ref. to were HR is being hidden in both the template or the css.

Can you elaborate.
